FAQ
Download & install
Is the website download always the latest build?
Yes. download.tessoa.com/.../latest/... always points at the current latest package; releases overwrite the same path.
Does Windows need administrator rights?
Usually no. Install and integrations write under the current user profile and HKCU.
Is “take over File Explorer” safe? Can I undo it?
It is marked experimental. When on, folder double-click, drive double-click, Win+E, and similar may route to tessoa for this user. Turn it off anytime on the install page; uninstall also clears it. It does not change the login shell, and it does not rewrite navigation inside already-open Explorer windows.
macOS says the app can’t be opened / is from an unidentified developer?
Allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security, or right-click the app and choose Open.
Usage
Does closing the last tab quit the app?
No. You return to the welcome page. Quit with the window close button or the quit shortcut.
Why are my tabs still there after restart?
A normal quit saves the session (tabs, splits, folders, views, and more). That is expected. If a folder was deleted, you will see a missing-path notice.
Can I change shortcuts?
Yes. Command palette → Keyboard shortcuts. See Keyboard shortcuts.
Will my settings be lost?
Theme, language, keybinding overrides, zoom, and similar prefs persist. The workspace session is saved on a normal quit. Force-kill or a crash may drop the current session write.
Updates & support
How do I check for updates?
Installed Windows builds can check in-app. You can also re-download anytime from the download page.

Is there more documentation?
This site is user docs. Contributor-oriented subsystem design lives in the product source repo under docs/ — most users do not need it.
