v0.27.1

v0.27.1 was released on 2026-09-30. This release improves restarts after installing updates and the display of update progress, and fixes missing entries in the context menu order settings.

For the change types (New / Improved / Fixed), see Changelog.

Improved

#KindChange
1ImprovedWhether an update installs automatically in the background or starts through Update Now, tessoa waits for you to click Restart after installation instead of restarting automatically. If editor tabs have unsaved changes, tessoa asks whether to save them before restarting. You can also cancel the restart.
2ImprovedThe update control at the top right of the window is now a text button. It shows Update when a new version is available, a progress bar during download, Installing… during verification and installation, and Restart when installation finishes. If installation fails, the button returns to Update so you can click it again to retry.
Warning

Save changes in editor tabs before upgrading from 0.27.0 to this release. That upgrade is still handled by the updater in 0.27.0, so clicking Update Now can still restart tessoa immediately after installation. Waiting for a manual restart and checking for unsaved changes take effect for updates from this release onward.

Fixed

#KindChange
3FixedFixes the File context menu group under Settings → Context Menu → Context Menu Order showing only one or two name placeholders, leaving other entries unavailable in the settings list. Previously, right-clicking a file or folder with the same name as a third-party menu entry could trigger this issue. After upgrading, opening this settings page or right-clicking a file restores the list. Third-party entries hidden by the issue also reappear in the menu.
Warning

Menu settings lost to this issue cannot be restored automatically. If your file context menu list was affected, you need to reconfigure any custom order, visibility choices and custom accelerator keys lost to it. Unaffected compression and extraction entries that include file names retain their hidden states and custom accelerator keys.

For menu order, visibility and accelerator settings, see The order of context menus.
