v0.29.2

v0.29.2 was released on 2026-10-24. This release adds density controls for individual interface areas, reading settings and a settings tab, expands terminal mouse input, search and text display, and fixes folder size updates, window effects and list scrolling.

Warning

Downgrading to v0.29.1 or earlier loses the four area-specific density settings, reading settings, custom terminal shortcuts, the Use Option as Meta Key setting and the Direct3D 11 graphics API selection. Older versions do not recognize these settings.

New

#KindChange
1NewSpacing in Settings is renamed to UI Density, with a wider range of 50%–200%. It adjusts spacing without changing text size. File List, Icons & Thumbnails, Sidebar and Buttons & Tabs can each be adjusted separately.
2NewAppearance settings now include Reading, where you can set the font, font size and line spacing used by text previews and text editor tabs independently of the interface.
3NewOpen Settings in a Tab lets you view and change settings in a tab.
4NewPrograms that support mouse input, such as vim and htop, can receive clicks, drags and wheel input in terminal tabs. Hold Shift to select text.
5NewTerminal tabs support searching output text. The default shortcut is Ctrl+Shift+F, or ⌘+F on macOS.
6NewTerminal tabs recognize URLs and hyperlinks. Dropping a file into a terminal inserts its path.
7NewLong terminal lines rewrap when the terminal width changes. Double-click to select a word, or triple-click to select a whole line.
8NewTerminal tabs support italics, strikethrough, underline styles and cursor shapes, with improved display of combining characters and emoji.
9NewTerminal shortcuts can be changed in the keybinding settings.
10NewmacOS: adds the Use Option as Meta Key setting.
11NewWindows: Graphics API now includes Direct3D 11, which can reduce idle memory usage and takes effect after a restart. The default remains DirectX 12. Direct3D 11 is still being validated; if rendering problems occur, switch back to DirectX 12 or Auto.
12NewPortable devices, such as phones, now show file sizes, modification times and storage capacity.

Improved

#KindChange
13ImprovedContext menus, tooltips and dropdown menus follow UI Density. If Spacing was previously set to a value other than 100%, tabs, navigation buttons, footer buttons and menus also use that scale after upgrading.
14ImprovedIn terminal tabs, Ctrl+L and Alt+F are passed to the shell.
15ImprovedWhen files being deleted to the same recycle bin exceed its capacity limit in total, tessoa asks whether to permanently delete them as a group.

Fixed

#KindChange
16FixedFixes parent folder sizes not updating after files change in deeply nested subfolders.
17FixedFixes acrylic or mica window effects disappearing after a restart, and a brief black window during startup when these effects are enabled.
18FixedFixes the list starting to scroll one row too early when moving the selection with arrow keys.
19FixedFixes terminal flickering when dragging to change the window width.
20FixedFixes crowded text when the settings window is too narrow.
21FixedFile sizes now use PB and EB units, instead of continuing to show long values in TB at 1024 TB and above.
